Hi! My name is Hao (pronounced just like 'How') Chang. I grew up in Taiwan and immigrated to the U.S. after receiving my B.A. from Tamkang University in Tansui, Taiwan. I completed my Massage Therapist coursework at Universal Spa Training Academy in Westmont, IL.

Looking back, I can see that I've always been interested in massage and relieving people's suffering, though it was a long road of professions (including accounting and computers) before I found my calling in Massage Therapy.

An unfortunate incident which caused my mom to end up first in Intensive Care and then in a nursing home, exposed me to many people who seemed to be suffering from chronic pain. Visiting my mom in the nursing home day after day made it easy for me to decide that I really wanted to help relieve their suffering.

Having made that decision, I enrolled first at Sohmar School of Holistic Massage and Reflexology in Downers Grove, IL and then switched to Universal Spa Training Academy in Westmont, IL where I completed the required training for Illinois State Licensure. Of course, completing the coursework was only the first step! Massage therapists in Illinois are required to take the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage Exam which is a bear! The test consists of 160 questions covering anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, therapeutic massage application, assessment and ethics in about 3 hours. Passing the test is not easy, but I managed to pass on my first try.

Although I passed and am now fully licensed in the State of Illinois, I firmly believe that learning is never over and intend to take Continuing Education classes so that I can continue to improve the service I provide for my clients.

My goal is to develop a plan of natural healing and stress relief for each client.

Besides massage and studying, I enjoy painting, drawing, baking, sewing, trying new things, travelling and my best friend is 'Hello Kitty'!
